Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in Monument, CO — Meet Shannon Wright, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC
Integrative, Holistic Mental Health Care in-person within the Tri-Lakes Area & Across Colorado via Telehealth
Hi there!
I’m SHannon!
I’m a dual-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner, and the founder of TrailMind Health & Wellness in Monument, Colorado. I’ve been practicing as an NP since 2013, and I believe mental health care works best when it looks at the whole person — not just a diagnosis or a prescription pad. I approach care in a way that’s collaborative, grounded, and highly personalized — think expert guidance without the stiff white-coat energy.
I have special interests in perimenopause and hormone-related mental health, imposter syndrome, perinatal mental health, ADHD, neuroimmune disorders, and supporting those with chronic pain or limiting conditions.
While I didn’t choose this work to be “relatable,” there’s a part of my story that doesn’t live on my résumé:
I’m a wife and mother of three, and like many women, my “iceberg” story runs deeper than what’s visible on the surface. It includes:
Life-changing trauma and physical limitations
Complex family dynamics
Birth trauma
Miscarriage and second-trimester loss
Infertility
High-risk pregnancies
Medical trauma
Chronic pain
These experiences shape how I show up — with depth, humility, and respect for how layered people’s stories can be.

Originally from Texas, I moved to Colorado with my family in 2023 and feel most like myself outside — hiking local trails, cheering on my kids from the sidelines, baking sourdough, and attempting (with mixed results) to keep my garden alive.
